Creative Couple Costume

Are you and your partner going out together at Halloween? Then you’re perhaps searching for a creative couple costume that you can both dress in. Putting on various Halloween costumes is great fun… but thinking up something that you are both prepared to wear and that works can be tricky.

One of the simplest ways to discover ideas for a creative couple costume is to start with what you both enjoy doing together. What do you both enjoy? For example, are you both knowledgeable in things to do with the war? You could both go as people from the era you’re interested in, such as the civil war or World War 2. A battlefield soldier and a war time nurse make excellent couple halloween costumes.

Picking an era from history gives you plenty of couple costumes to choose from. Begin with a time period that you are both attracted to, and work from there. If you both like jazz, in particular, maybe you want to produce a jazz age costume. A flapper and her gun-toting gangster fella work great. Or go further back in time. Possibly you are both interested in the medieval era? Be a couple of serfs, or a wench and peasant, or a king and queen. Other ideas could be Cleopatra and Anthony (or an Egyptian king like King Tut), Bonnie and Clyde, and King Arthur and Guinevere.

Pop culture is a great way to make up a creative couple costume, so think about what shows, movies or music you both like. Then, think about what male and female characters stand out to you. Disney movies are straightforward, with famous pairs such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Jasmine and Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. Other cool ones are Shrek and Princess Fiona, Harry Potter and Hermione, and Marge and Homer Simpson.

You can go classic TV, and dress up as Lucy and Ricky from I Love Lucy or Fred and Wilma from The Flintstones. Or how about Sandy and Danny, from Grease? If you are big fans of action movies, think of something a bit different…. Murtagh and Riggs form Lethal Weapon would also make a really creative couple costume

However, you don’t have to single out famous movie or pop culture couples. You can put together great couple costumes using a movie as a theme. Dress up as two zombies, vampires, werewolves or even Klingons.

Finally, you can create an awesome couple costume from classic pairings.. A Navy brat and her Navy sailor, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and Tarzan and Jane all work great. Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf, a pirate and a wench, or a prom king and queen are fun costume ideas.

When all’s said and done, for a creative couple costume all you have to do is work out what it is that you both like (and helpfully, what makes you both smile) and then let your imaginations do the rest!
